What is a pronoun ?
A  Pronoun is a word that takes the place of a noun
Types of Pronouns
v Personal pronouns
ü      the subject of a verb
ü      the object of a verb
v Possessive pronouns
v Reflexive pronoun

1. Personal Pronouns
The subject of a verb : -
    I, you, he, she, it, we and they can all be used as the subject of a verb.
The objective of a verb : -
me, you, him, her, it, us and them can all be used as the object of a verb.

Ex : -
Lisa likes cats. She likes to stroke them.

A sentence is not a part of speech; it just the thing that contains the Part of speech

      Example:
                  And adds things together in the sentence “I like baseball and soccer.”
                Or also joins, but makes an option “What do you like best, dogs or cats?”
                Or can also  pose a question.

Noun


    WHAT ARE NOUNS?  
Ø Nouns are naming words.
Ø They name people, places and objects.
Ø They can also name ideas, emotions, qualities and activities.
Ø Here are some examples of nouns:
Ø Peter, Elizabeth, driver, sister, friend.
Ø Bristol, Severn, Brazil, pen, dog, money.
Ø Love, beauty, industry, nature, greed, pain.
Types of noun
Ø All nouns can be divided into common  and proper nouns.
Ø Common nouns can then be divided into countable and uncountable nouns.
Ø Both countable and uncountable nouns can then be further divided into concrete and abstract nouns.
Ø We’ll look at each type in turn.
           First, look again at those types and how they relate.

       Proper nouns
Ø Proper nouns start with capital letters.
Ø They are the names of people, places, times, organisations etc.
Ø They refer to unique individuals.
Ø Most are not found in the dictionary.
Ø They often occur in pairs or groups.
Ø Here are some examples.
Common nouns
Ø All nouns which are not proper nouns are common nouns.
Ø A few examples: cup, art, paper, work, frog, bicycle, atom, family, mind.
Ø Common nouns are either countable or uncountable.

WH Question Words

WH Question Words We use question words to ask certain types of questions (question word questions). We often refer to them as WH words because they include the letters WH (for example WHy, HoW). Question Word Function Example what asking for information about something What is your name? asking for repetition or confirmation What? I can't hear you. 13 square v. to multiply a number by the same number [eg: 3 squared = 9] 
14 square root n. number that multiplied by itself gives a certain number [3 is the square root of 9] 
15 subtract v. to deduct one number from another [eg: 2 minus 2] - subtraction n. 
16 thousand n. 1,000; 103 
17 times p. 2 x 2 [is expressed as] two times two - see multiply 
18 to the power of multiplication of a number by itself [eg: 2 to the power of 3 = 8] 
19 trillion n.1,000,000,000,000; a million million; 1012 
20 zero n. 0; oh; nought
